The Fairview has four restaurants to choose from, two of which I've had the opportunity to try out. I have yet to venture over to their gourmet restaurant, Pango, and exclusive wine cellar/bar but am looking forward to visiting at some point.
Location: Upper Hill on Bishop Road across from the Israeli Embassy
Price: Beers KES 250 (~$3.15), Cocktails starting around KES 350 (~$4.40), Mukutan Garden Cafe entrees KES ~400-1000 (~$5-12.50)
Atmosphere: The garden cafe has a lovely water feature and it is easy to forget that you are so close to the City Centre when sitting surrounded by plush greenery and are shielded from the honks of Nairobi traffic.
I think that their garden cafe is a great place to stop by for a quick bite with colleagues or a leisurely lunch on the weekend. Most recently I visited Mukutan Garden Cafe with a group of friends for a casual Easter Monday brunch. I am a huge fan of sushi and think that the sushi bar here is one of the best in Nairobi (I particularly like their dynamite roll but their sushi platters are a good deal and you get a variety of nigiri, sushi, and rolls). Their menu is extensive for a light lunch and you have your choice between sushi, quesadillas, or sandwiches (their bacon, chicken and avocado sandwich always looks so tempting) and I only heard rave reviews from those indulging on the cheesecake. It's been awhile since I visited the pool side restaurant, Pwani, but their pizza was memorably good. It's a nice spot to chill after work with a drink and have a light dinner.
